Tears

TEACHBROECK On 5:49 AM

I didn't cry when my sister died.
Fast forward 9 years. I didn't cry when my beloved grandfather died this winter. I loved them both. I had deep bonds with them both. They were both huge parts of my life, but I sailed through the arrangements and funerals almost numb? I even spoke at my grandfather's funeral. ME! Who blushes at thought of a captive audience over the age of 12.
This morning I caught the first 20 minutes of the Today show. They had a bit that showed a sailor who had been away for 7 months surprise his son in his kindergarten class. The son's face when he saw his dad and then ran to him with tears in his eyes. INSTATEARS for me. Strange. I often wonder if God gives me grace to deal with death and be strong for the others In my life...OR so I repress my feelings so much I can't feel things when and how I should. But then I can cry about a book, movie or song that has nothing to do with me.

WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?

NO this is not another whiny post about not getting pregnant. THIS is a whiny post about weight! I pulled out the old skool Tae Bo this morning. YES THIS MORNING I got up at 5:45 a RECORD! I did 20 minutes of it until the rapid side-kicking began...my hips just don't move sideways. Hopefully I can add it to my walking routine and actually LOSE some weight.

This is my usual breakfast...minus the Dr.Pepper. Our freaking coffee maker died. I am not a huge coffee drinker, but one nice mug in the morning fills me up and gives the boost. So it is pop today and then I will drink 197459475 ounces of water.

GIDDY!!!

Spoiled

TEACHBROECK On 7:24 AM

Yes so the dog is spoiled. Some people say PUT HIM OUTSIDE ALL DAY....others say LET HIM SLEEP IN BED WITH YOU. There is almost as much information about rearing a dog out there is there for children! I hope we are doing a good job. He spends most the day outside in a huge pen. Seems happy in his custom-made doghouse. We play with him from the moment we get home until we eat dinner...then let him in for TV knitting time. At night Gage sleeps in his kennel in our room. I can't wait for the day he can curl up on a dog bed and make it through the night. He likes his kennel, and then if he needs to pee in the night he whimpers a bit instead of wandering off to the door and peeing on the floor 'cause Jdog and I are snoozing away upstairs. As for leaving him outside 24/7, we do live in the country, but he is a puppy and could find endless ways to kill himself. Why have a dog if you are going to leave him tied up all day...I am MUCH MORE of a cat person than a dog person, but even I feel like he needs attention and love from us. He just left 8 bothers and sisters and who wants to be alone?!!! So no he can't sleep on our bed (I am a germ/clean freak and the comforter is NEW BY GOD...and the cat sleeps with me ...and we are trying to get pregnant!!! ) Each day gets better. The first week I think I may have said the words divorce, selling him on Ebay, TAKE HIM BACK, that little f***er but now he settles down after get home and entertains himself more often. We only got up once in the night last night to let him out. I guess as long as Kdog looks back on her life with fond memories of pets I can deal with it...but the whole licking the lotion off my legs needs to STOP.

Things I have learned being a 3rd grade teacher:

1. Never use the word "balls"...in any context

2. I can fart whenever I please and blame it on 22 other bodies

3. There is such thing as TOO MUCH information

4. Do not play dodge ball in a push-up bra

5. If I don't run my class...one of the kids will!

6. The words butt, toilet, and poop evoke more laughter than any stand up comic

7. My eyes can silence the room

8. A gentle hand on the shoulder can change disarm the most belligerent children

9. Snow pants do not insure dry children

10. If you have food in your teeth, the kids will not notice or care.

And now weekend randomness:

Self portraits are always best taken while drinking

The point of this picture was the green polka dot bows they are wearing. They were suppose to be attached to my cute new purse, but were a little much for me. Generous I know.

***Preface..this is the first post ever I was hesitant to publish...I don't have a lot of readers, but I love read other's blogs and get out the crazy "day to day" here. I was thinking people would think I was an irresponsible drunk. BUT I know I am not and all that post down there doesn't happen very often...and I guess if it did o'well.

It is all the dog's fault.

SERIOUSLY! We can't leave him alone for long amounts of time...not at night for sure. So why not celebrate St. Pat's day early...? Sounds reasonable right?
*warning there are pictures of my tongue. More than one. It is gross and thick with Irish whiskey. At times it is even green. Do not proceed to incriminating pictures if you are queasy.
