GLOBAL WARMING

TEACHBROECK On 8:54 AM

2 days off before Christmas break...not a bad gift (wasn't I just complaining that we GET nothing from the administration?) It basically rained here and then froze every possible square inch the outside world. I live in Wisconsin where is the SNOW?

ANYWAY....
Merry Family Time
...enjoy the food, wine, laughter, good gifts and the ones that make you cringe, and the faces of the children ( that is before they get over-tired and filled with sugar)

Please don't take that new job....
I say " I support you" .....
I mean it ....I do...your happiness = my happiness
But really 14 hour days? Not a day off until they replace the dude that choked the superviser.
15 day stretches?
This was suppose to be PART TIME
YOU HAVE A JOB! 60 hours a week sometimes...
Every other weekend I feel weak..sad...pitiful because you are gone
You have a step-daughter..she will miss you
We are trying again for a baby..

Maybe since I blogged it ...all this won't come out in a wine-induced temper tantrum later...
I want to be your ROCK
Rocks get lonely too

Thank Goodness Kdog has a crafty teacher this year. As much as I love to cook ( I use white wine in my tuna casserole) I despise to BAKE. I make 1 tort, and 1 cheesecake...other than that I frequent the local bakeries in the area. So the little wannabe was THRILLED to be able to be all messy and creative with her buds.

Can you tell she is totally unimpressed that her mom is a teacher and can spy on her daily life at any time. I am surprised she was smiling and didn't douse me with the spray frosting (BTW is that tasty?). Soon after I shot this I got the ole MOM stop with the camera ....topped off with an eye-roll and a get the hell outta here look.

3.5 more days of work.....will I ever find my desk?
PS Any mothers with girls out there feel like you are raising a teenager? The tone, sacarsm and oh yha those eye rolls wouldda had me a mouthful of soap or a missing appendage. I have such high expectations of her behavior, but maybe girls have morphed into hormonal filled creatures that I can't control. SHE IS 7 and talks like a bratty 14 year sometimes. Will she be married, divorced and a CEO at 23?

TEACHBROECK On 12:00 PM

So today I
1. Had to make up for yesterday because I was gone at an all day USELESS conference.
2. Had to post some VERYIMPORTANTGRANTSHIT (oddly enough about technology) and the website SUCKS there was no place to add a new post on my page.
3. Lost 2 math tests
4. Spent 30 minutes on the phone with bigwig about VERYIMPORTANGRANTSHIT
5. Taught classes
6. Met with another teacher about math
7. Was here at 7:15 for another meeting
8. Wrote sub plans for tomorrow
THIS is what my desk looks like

THIS is what I look like:

WHY AM I COMPLAINING? Really I'm not. I know everyone out there is busier than hell whether it is at home with kids, saving lives or picking up garbage. My point is that tonight is my husband's work party.

OPEN BAR!!!!!

Which by the way HAD a scheduled Dr. Appointment tomorrow so I have the day off! HONESTLY! Not that I haven't pulled that little song and dance in other years.

Happy Weekend..I am off to drink many wines and embarrass my hubby in front of his coworkers.

....and not the kind Y blogs about.
We are always coming up with ideas concerning motivating kids to read. So last quarter 2 of the teacher sate live worms...when we met for 2nd quarter reward meeting a bald teacher jokingly offered to shave his head. AND THEN the world around me started to move in slow motion. I was outside of myself watching as I offered with earnest to let one of the high readers cut off my pony tail. MY PONYTAIL which I love...not because it healhty and shiny and beautiful placed, but because HELLO a ponytail...(sidenote other than my family, wine, and a good turkey sub I LOVE TO SLEEP a lot) only takes 3 minutes and you can go to work...work-out...shop...you get the point. So I did it...for the good of the literacy cause.

Christmas Program

TEACHBROECK On 11:53 AM

Imagine here a post all about K'dog's Christmas program, combined with precious pictures. I can't post them, because I don't know how to blur/block out her classmates faces.
Yes I could crop, but it kinda takes away form the whole group performance when all you can see is a grainy closeup of her in a cowboy hat.
WHAT? Your kids don't wear cowboy hats in their CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
C'mon!

to have and to hold you from this day forward,

in miscarriage and in confusion.
I further promise to love you and and your Wellbruitin
and be faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

SS DAY 3

TEACHBROECK On 10:04 AM

ON the surface they look like two very nice SS gifts. 1 from the person who drew my name...and a 2nd from SS #2 (AKA as the person who felt sorry for me cause my gifts from SS1 SUCK ASS)

So I open both and from SS #1 is a nottoobadlooking candle...I was impressed FOR ABOUT 30 seconds...I smelled it and it smelled like rotten floride. Remember back in the daywhen you had the strawberry gel crap in a denture mold and had to leave it forever? Yha that is what it smells like. And of course from SS#2 I got a cutiepatootie snowman.

Bring a Dish to Pass

TEACHBROECK On 7:55 AM

This is kind of a POTLUCK post.
1. I feel like a grown-up! I have my first actual matching bedroom set ever!!

2. We finally got our tree up and mostly decorated. It smells so good! I get a little nostalgic when I think that I'm creating my daughter's memories. I hope they are good! OF course I bought all these new funky bulbs to match the rest of my decor. They don't come with hangers. WHAT? I thought that was an automatic accessory!! So here is a picture minus the cute 20 mini bulbs!

3. Finally...this morning I received an email invite to my 15th high school reunion. WTF.
If you run into Father Time kick him the nuts.

The Plot Thickens

TEACHBROECK On 7:00 AM

Sooo yesterday I got a really crappy secret santa gift....(I gave mine a purse sized B&B hand lotion today) Today I got this SUPER CUTE snowman wall hanging. I was so impressed....until I reread the FROM label. It read Secret Santa #2 Either yesterday was a joke and this is gift #2...OR some of the coworkers I showed the uglyass angel to are feeling sorry for me and messing with me. I LOVE IT....working with 8 year olds all day is very rewarding, but a little inner work mystery is to die for!

TEACHBROECK On 8:31 AM

THIS is why I have not been in "Secret Santa" here at work for years. WHY I decided to rejoin the group this year I will never know. We each write a small list of things we enjoy or collect. The person I drew like "country things" and lotions. Sooo today the first day of the SS bull**** my perosn got a cute little woodsey snowman ornament from a store with an actual trademark.
I got this.
Pretty sure I did not have "broken cheap-ass angel ornament" on my list.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's piece o'crap.

TEACHBROECK On 1:23 PM

Conversation 2 minutes ago with J dog

Jdog: Hi Honey how are you?

Me: Fine but... bitchwhinecomplainblah blah

JDog: (ignoring all above whining) What is for supper?

Me: I dunno. I cooked the last 2 days and I am tired today.

IN MY HEAD: and maybe if you picked up some beef from the cow we slaughtered for 250 bucks at your g'ma's out of OUR freezer that still is not at OUR house I could make something!
Jdog: I want grilled cheese.

ME: We don't have any cheese.

Jdog: I know. I would stop at the store but I am all wet from work.

ME: I don't feel like stopping at the store in the rain...with a seven year old!

Jdog: But I am really in the mood for it.

ME: FINE

Jdog: ...and tomato soup.

ME: FINE! BYE!
WTF the dry person should get wet because the wet person is in the mood for cheese?

Charlie vs. Howie

TEACHBROECK On 7:06 AM

Sooooo I have been stuck at home a lot lately. J-Dog is a huge hunter (don't even get me started on how much hunting and all that goes with it pisses me off!) and of course I am pregnant so no Widow's Night out for me. I was looking forward to Monday night with K-dog because the ole classic Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving was on....we had our jammies on ....snuggled on the couch and the nostalgic intro music playing....and then it happened....

"MOM what channel was Deal or No Deal on? I am gong downstairs to watch it"

WHAT??? Miss this magical bonding time with Charlie and the gang? So yha I ended up watching HGTV alone. Happy Thanksgiving 2006

Where I was the COOL mom for 3 hours

TEACHBROECK On 6:18 AM

So I took Kdog to the CHEETAH girls last night. I have been to many concerts, but there is nothing like being at a concert with only girls-15 and their moms. There were a few dads in the mix, but mostly estrogen. I could NOT BELIEVE all the mothers dressed to the hilt in cheetah- patterned getup...But anyway I was quite impressed with the CG.
1. All their songs were about friendship and accepting differences.
2. Not one mid-drift was shown. (( I am the anit BRATZ
3. None of the girls seem to be suffering from an eating disorder. I am not trying to be coy with such a serious matter, but they all had average bodies. Bodies I want my little girl to see and accept!

Maternity Pants

TEACHBROECK On 8:53 AM

+ They are trendier than 7 ions ago when I was prego Kdog
+They are boot cut!
-They fall down A LOT which means whenever my hands are full (like ALWAYS) they start sliding down and I have to do this strange walk with wide knees to keep them on
-there is no true CROTCH ...it kind lingers between the sagging stage and the camel toe stage depending if they are falling off or I just hiked them up
++++ they are VERY comphy and I may consider wearing them the rest of my life

Snow

TEACHBROECK On 6:51 AM

I slept in today. Big mistake. First my daughter DID NOT WANT to wear a certain pair of pants. Normally I pick my battles but there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and she has nice warm clothes. She has a developed a hyper sensitivity to how they fit. NO matter what they are too long, too tight or just not comfortable. Okay .....We got the pants on, she looked cute.THEN with 10 minutes to spare she informs she MUST dress like a cowboy.....WHAT? Oh yes for the Veteran's Day Program....(WTF do cowboys have to do with veterans ?) right NOTHING she was confused with Christmas program in 2 months. Yup so we changed her clothes, grabbed the snowpants and the 2 stick horses, packed 3 pairs of shoes: snow boots, cowboy boots and gym shoes. Then we proceeded the 7 mile journey to school and it took 35 minutes! Ahhhh Wisconsin got love it....it is 9:02 and I am still waiting for a bus of kids.

Well it is empty in here. I have been a huge lurker for many years. I read 10 -15 blogs during my work day. It is a bit of an addiction. I admit that I am totally naive about the tech part of this, but I just can't hold back anymore. Even if noone reads this, at least I can express my feelings and show off my pictures!
