failure

TEACHBROECK On 8:12 AM

I have no real talents. I can't sing or draw or rollerskate backwards...yha I can cook, but not fancy. I can make people laugh but it gets annoying. The one thing I thought I was good at was being a mom...really K just made it easy because she was the classic Gerber baby who ate, slept and played.

I am not good at it. I have friends that have had kids 9 months apart. Beebop has a baby and a toddler at home..Sugar and Ice has baby twins and a toddler! And some of you out there have 4 or 5 kids! All of you seem so cool and relaxed....like you go to the gym and READ! I have a 9 year old and a 8 month old and I can't do it very well! It has been puke, snot and coughing all vacation and now I have a cold. Most days I don't even take a sip of my coffee much less take a shower. I am so tired at night I pray the baby won't wake up...K still needs me when she feels sick..I feel like I am drowning in laundry and dust...why can't I handle this?

I feel like Baby J is a grouchy baby all of a sudden ..does not like to entertain himself...screams when I change his diaper...he is only happy when he is rubbing his snot on my sweatshirt...which is fine I have just started rubbing my own snot there too...saves on Kleenex...he is bored and clingy and wakes up 3 or 4 times a night...I thought I was doing this all right. I wouldn't change anything for the world...my kids make my life complete... is he going through separation anxiety? Should I let him cry when Daddy tries to hold him? I can't give in and rescue him or he will do it more? Right? I have 9 years experience and I am clueless!

I guess what I am saying is maybe we won't have anymore kids..I wasn't cut out for motherhood like I thought. All I wanted from people is to say I was a good mom...maybe I am not. this too shall pass...right?

Maybe this was all triggered by the mansized poop I had to fish out of the tub this morning.

Nellie I am WITH YOU I may just need a day or 2 to find my sanity and my bra...=) Thanks for not giving up on me!

Wanna Play?

Ok here is a list of things that MAY or MAY NOT have happened since my vacation started last Wed. In the comment section let me know which you think are true or not...

1. Baby J fell out of his car seat ..which was on a TABLE

2. Kdog puked all night long

3. After being on antibiotics Baby J is cranky and NOT sleeping AGAIN

4. On a moments notice I had to read in front of 100 + people at Christmas Eve service (damn there is a clue on that one)

5. Baby J choked so bad he aspirated on Xmas eve

6. 4 minutes after # 5 my nephew screamed bloody murder when his fingers got caught in between the leaves of the table

7. .34 seconds after #6 G'ma accidentally bounced Baby J's head off carpet trying to help nephew

8. I washed my cell phone in the washer...and lived with no cell phone for 3 days

9. I didn't shower for 3 days straight

10. I witnessed my husband engage in a violent verbal assault...with the Christmas tree..

I think I may have cut of his first words right at the end!!! He lifted his hand and sounded like he said bub bye right as I hit STOP! Okay we will all pretend it never happened!

So nice to have bubbly baby boy back. (like the alleteraiton there?)

Kdog is safely 7 hours away up north with her dad. I hope she has a great time celebrating Christmas with his family.

Jdog is off to START his Christmas shopping...(for me- I take care of everything else...) and when he gets back....IT IS MOMMY AND GIRLFRIEND DAY!!! We are shopping and getting an early supper with some Bloody Mary's!

Maybe it seems I do things like this a lot...but MY FRIENDS are my life. My sisters...I need time with them. We have stayed with our commitment to only get overnight babysitters twice a month (if you knew me PREBabyJ we went out socially almost every weekend that K went to her dad's) But now that Baby J is here we want to enjoy as much as we can with him...he will be all grown up kissing girls in the back of my car in no time...we can party then =)

Okay must go there are no more measuring cups for baby J to throw off his highchair tray!

PS I am not sure what is more annoying MY VOICE or the DRYER in the background of the video!

I'm still a rock star...I got my rock moves

TEACHBROECK On 6:17 AM

Still here.

Home for day 2 of Operation SICKBOY. Monday night was a blur of firey fever, tears and NO sleep.

Doctor says ear infection, bronchitis and start of pneumonia on right side. There goes my mother of the year award. Until the fever started, I though he was just hanging on to the nasty crud Every kid at daycare has...plus he is so so damn happy all the time I didn't know.

It was teary...seeing your baby sick and NOT being able to comfort him for the first time in his life...I was mad that mom lived so far away (if you know anything about me that is HUGE!) I was mad that we lived too far from an urgent care clinic, I was PISSED my husband had a job that did not include sick time or even anytime to help me...but in the end it all worked out ..I have a great local NP that saw me on a moments notice and friends that helped with Baby J while I got K to school and my sub plans done at the crack of ass.

He slept great last night after only one dose of drugs...Tylenol on the every 4 hours...his fever was ravishing...and

IF YOU HAVE KIDS

IF YOU HAVE EARS

IF YOU HAVE KIDS WITH EARS
get this...

My NP called it "Novocain for the ears" Seriously instant pain relief in the ear..not even my neonatal nurse friend had hear of it. You need a prescription, but worked great!!!

Okay Off to read about all you!

Dear God...please help Baby J get better. Keep Kdog healthy and most of all help me not kill the dog who is in the house most of the day because of the weather. AMEN

Dear Santa...stolen off an email

TEACHBROECK On 7:27 AM

Dear Santa,

I've been a good Mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my childrenon demand, visited the pediatrician's office more than my own doctor, and sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shadetree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list outover several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son'sred crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room, betweencycles.... and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache, (in any color, except purple,I already have purple) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store. I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.
If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music, a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.
On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, 'Yes,Mommy' to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.
I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting 'Don't eat inthe living room' and 'Take your hands off your brother,' because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can onlybe heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season.Would it be too much trouble to declare chocolate a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as ifthey were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants me to feed him or take him somewhere..

Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies onthe table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet. (You promised me last year you would lose some weight with me so next year you and I could be a cute size six...)Okay, some requests go too far.....
Yours Always, MOM

P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep mychildren, healthy, safe and of course, young enough to always believe in Santa.

How to Survive the Holidays

TEACHBROECK On 3:51 PM

When the lights get tangled.....your husband buys you a blender...you mother in law buys you a size 2 just or the kids whine about their gifts JUST sip...sip ...sip away and all your worries will seem a blur!

This is a BAD SHOT of our Christmas card...I had to angle it funny to cut off our names (What??? I COULD have stalkers one day!)..and of course the lovely flash glare...you get the jist.

Remember this? Well I finally bought some and tried it. the actual prep went super fast and it tasted YUMMY! I did add a bit more wine to deglaze the pan and thin it out...and of course mushrooms! Thanks again JENN! The only complaint I had was the amount of noodles was small..I just added some angel hair pasta I had and made a bigger batch.

Shopping and Santa

TEACHBROECK On 1:28 PM

So yha I am done. I would show you my favorite gifts I bought, but most of them are personalized with names- so umm sorry! I went shopping Friday at Target at 9 am...walked in ...no crowds got every deal I needed. Then took Baby J to get his ears checked (and mine) of course neither of us had anything...bad DR Long story....let's just say it involved coffee stains and burping-EW!

I just had to return ONE THING at Kohl's and found ROCK STAR DEALS! Like Badger pullovers half off...Columbia Wallets 24 bucks with jackknife! 100 dollar cashmere sweaters for 34 bucks!!! I was in HEAVEN! Thank GOD Baby J is so patient.

So yha I am done ...even wrapped a bit Sunday! NEEENER NEEENEER NEENERR

Friday and Saturday went to see Santa at the local park lightings...so fun! Don't be all mad cause you think the new baby has replaced Kdog...no she is PETRIFIED of SANTA...so bust off there are no pics of her and Santa...never has been...I refuse to force her...

Saturday was the last night out of deer hunting...and Jdog CAME HOME I almost fell over...Kdog happen to be home...(because her dad works and I refuse to let her stay 12 hours with KANTFACE) so our whole family went to the lighting that night...oh and rode on a SLEIGH! Pulled by a 4 wheelerthingy!

Enjoy...ps both my kids won door prizes...which by the way K HATES drawings..seriously folks I do not make this up...she refuses to enter them no matter what the prize...First Baby J won 10 Dollars....Kdog won a the grand prize...A SPECIAL GIFT FORM SANTA AT THE HARDWARE...oh dear she cried ....refuses to go pick it up in 2 weekends when he comes (back). Only me!
Whatev.
My nephew Brayden is not impressed!

Did anyone see that story on the Today show where a momblogger noticed a white reflection in the eye of friend's daughter on a blog...and saved her daughter's life from eye cancer...this pic freaks me out.

I have no comment for this...it is my life as I know it...I have a family picture of us on the "sleigh" but is a really bad pic!

Where was I again?

TEACHBROECK On 12:59 PM

Oh yes I just about to upload pictures, online shop and read all my Bloggies...when all of sudden IT HAPPENED.........I, teachbroeck, the anal of all clean bees, the mother who threatens near death if ANYONE have food or beverage near MY computer....spilled KOOLAID on the Laptop....(I hate Koolaid but it was the only thing to mix with my VODKA ....see now you understand!) 6 months

TEACHBROECK On 7:16 AM

As usual your mother is a little late ....

ON the 9th you turned 6 months...from 3-6 months is such a huge jump...but in the back of my mind I know 6 to 8 months is a leap too.

YOU LOVE:

-TO EAT! Cereal...with veggies. We just started with apples or bananas in the morning.

-To sit at your highchair.

-To watch the dog and cat.

-To roll!!! I waited all this time for a back to tummy roll and you just kept right on rolling ........

-BE held...and "climb" us!

-Jammie time...

-To laugh and smile when people talk to you

-Stare at our blue cups

Things that are changing:

-Since your shots and ear infection you wake up to eat at night

-I can't rock you to sleep anymore....you get too excited and overstimulated...the last 3 nights we just give you a bottle and let you lay in your crib...then rub your back and sooth you to sleep. You settle down much more quickly and sleep better....it saddens your mother though...I LOVED rocking you to sleep.

-The swing and bassinet went back to Grandma's

-You actually drink less formula because you are a good eater

DAYCARE! SO HAPPY TO START AT OUR DAYCARE THIS WEEK.

No more washing, packing, unpacking bottles, food, formula, cereal....L has it all!!! You come home clean and happy. She awake and ready when we get there...it is her job...it is such a warm, educational environment. L is so smart and patient I didn't worry one second the first day.

I see 8 month olds that we know and the are eating REAL FOOD! SITTING! CRAWLING!

Length: 29 inches
Weight: 17 1/2 inches
You are so strong, but sitting is not quite stable yet...
I love you and we enjoy every minute of your changes and smiles.

This is what 4 shots and an ear infection look like

Starting to get cold!

Tears of JOY

TEACHBROECK On 6:20 AM

I sent out the picture on yesterday's post of Baby J to my friends and family...just a happy FRIDAY kinda of email...I like to sent pictures to those that don't see him much.

One of the emails I sent out was to the daycare we are trying to get into.

I still consider her my good friend and she took PRIME care of Kdog. None of this is her fault we are waiting on a technicality.

Here was her response via email:

Cute pic! I'm done waiting.....so whenever YOU'RE ready.......

I am so happy...I am off to go shopping and flirting with my husband !! Thank you for thoughts and prayers!

Should I bother?

TEACHBROECK On 12:29 PM

I feel bad I don't update much.... work, sleep, clean...love on my kids...it is consuming but I LOVE IT...even with the small bumps in the road with daycare and my X I can't control it. But when I look up from pouting -I have so much in front of me that I want to savor, cherish and kiss on. Sounds soooo cliche' but I have to start sucking up all the goodness out there or I will consume myself with CRAP!

Anywhooo sorry I went all Oprah on you.

I am not sure I should keep truckin with TEACHBROECK...I only have a few readers, and I love to read each and everyone of your blogs, but maybe it is time to shut er down with my boring, infrequent posts.

WE shall see...(please don't see this as a plea for people to pet my pride and ask me to keep it up...just thinking outloud!!)

Okay I usually leave the TRYING OUT stuff to Jenn, but I happen to try this since I have been counting calories at CALORIECOUNTER .

BAD!!! It tasted like the crap you find in the bottom of the sink drainer after Thanksgiving dishes. (well I would guess that is what it taste like) I was so excited to have such a big bowl of soup with no meat be so low in calories.. BLECK! I threw it away and ate a twinkie.

K is off with a friend for our half day ( I still have to "work") Then she is off to an indoor game place and her dad will pick her up from there. I suppose it will be a reunion with the X and all will go back the way it was....o'well.

Jdog and I are off to the MALL OF AMERICA!!! We bought a hotel room near there at a silent auction. We are giving up our VEGAS trip ( too much out of pocket expense ) and spending the cash we won on the kids. We get a night away, nice dinner and drinks so we all win!!!

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Today:

K dog's dad emailed me that he is getting back with KANTFACE. After my parents and I helped him get out of her house and I took K on all his weekends so he could "get situated" Last week he could not pick her up because he drank after work...this week he is using GOD as his excuse to a sudden clear mind. I told him I wish I could take K FAR AWAY from such a selfish, shallow person. Damn we had been getting along so well (hmmmmmmmm he moves out we get along)Whatev be miserable. Thanks for putting K though emotional confusion.

And my daycare is bailing on me. Here I ago again...

BUT BUT BUT I give you my sanity....somebody thought he was KINGPIN in his new throne.

Halloween Hangover Funeral Flu

TEACHBROECK On 6:13 AM

Halloween was so fun! And Exhausting! But so fun! Both kids dressed Halloweeny for the day.

Kdog ended up going as Rachel Ray.

Baby J was our little pumpkin of course!

After a long day of school festivities, Jdog, Baby J and I headed to Jdog's grandma's wake. She passed away last Wednesday. It was sad, but she dearly missed her husband that passed 2 years before. She lived a good, long life filled with dedicated children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even 3 great-great- children. WOW! What a legacy.
After the wake we rushed back to T or T with the kids and visit some special friends. Finally it was off to the annual kids' Halloween party at my friend's restaurant. It is so awesome to have a band, games, and prizes JUST for the kids.

Here is Baby J with my friend who owns the restaurant and watches him on Fridays.

Da fam...I actually don't look like I had lost my mind at this point.

TRICK OR TREAT!

Lastly we went to G &G s house to relax and hang out...

So tuckered out....
